2. Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana

Who doesn’t want to party away in Margaritaville? If you’ve never been to one of the handful of Margaritaville properties scattered around the world, expect a Jimmy Buffet-approved experience that’s upscale without being stuffy. With a laid-back vibe, the accommodations range from private villas to swim-up suites. Balconies include daybeds or hammocks with views of the ocean.

If, though, it’s a 5-star, adults-only experience you’re after, look no further than the Live Aqua outpost in Punta Cana. 

The property works well for both romantic getaways and adults-only friend or family trips. The focus isn’t exclusively on romance, but it’s not a party-centric environment either. You could easily bring your parents here and not feel weird about it.

While the Hard Rock Hotel brand may, at first glance, appear to be more geared toward adult travelers, the brand’s Caribbean properties are, somewhat surprisingly, pretty family-friendly. Kids get access to their own kids’ club and water park. However, that hardly means that there isn’t a ton of fun for adults in the crew, too. For families who want a themed experience without resorting to a Disney vacay, the Nickelodeon property in Punta Cana delivers. Despite being a cartoon-themed resort, parents may be pleasantly surprised to find 5-star service here.
