Turks and Caicos is known as a luxury vacation hot spot in the West Indies. However, you don’t always need to spend luxury prices to enjoy a vacation here. If you pick a stay at one of our favorite all-inclusive resorts, you may just be able to save a little cash.

However, not all all-inclusive resorts across Turks & Caicos are the same and not all resorts are all-inclusive. Additionally, there are other things — beyond the resorts — that you’ll need to factor into your trip planning as well if you want your Turks & Caicos vacay to go off without a hitch.

When to Go to Turks & Caicos

First of all, before you even book that trip, you need to consider your trip dates. While Turks & Caicos does offer beautiful weather for most of the year, it does lie in the path of many hurricanes, which can cause travel disruptions at certain times. Additionally, your trip dates will impact how much you end up paying for your trip, too.

For the best weather possible, with no concerns for cost, though, visit during the spring, April or May. This will keep you clear of any storms (most likely), but will also allow you to enjoy warm temperatures and minimal rainfall.

Traveling to Turks & Caicos during either of these two months will also keep you clear of the destination’s busiest season, December to March. Travelers flock to the islands over the holidays and spring break, which can cause (relative) crowding and higher travel prices as demand is up.

For both the fewest crowds possible and the cheapest travel deals possible, though, you have to look to hurricane season, unfortunately. From late summer to fall, August through November, the threat of hurricanes is always there, but the crowds are gone and the prices are cheap. If you decide to travel to the area during these months, just be sure to buy some travel insurance, so you can get your money back if a hurricane cancels your plans.

So what’s the overall best time to travel to Turks & Caicos? If we have to pick, we’re going with April or May, as costs and crowds are down (even if they’re not the lowest possible) and the weather is great.

1. Ambergris Cay Private Island Resort 

Okay, yes — so we did mention staying at an all-inclusive resort was a good way to save cash when traveling. And, yes, if you glance down at this resort’s starting price tag per night, you might have to pick your jaw up off the floor. However, if you look at what’s included, you’ll find that the price is justifiable and would, yes, actually save you cash if you were to coordinate a similar experience on your own.

So what makes this ultra-luxury experience worth it? Ambergris Cay is a private island that stretches three miles, mixing pristine white sands with turquoise blue waters. The resort is exclusive, with only a handful of villas and suites, so the private island is never crowded. 

The inclusions are impressive, encompassing your private plane transfers, unlimited private excursions, daily spa treatments, all dining, use of golf cars to get around, butler service, and more. Every little thing is covered and every little detail is intended to make you feel entirely pampered. 

Pros: This resort welcomes everyone in the family for an extravagant getaway where your every private island vacay wish comes true. 

Cons: With all of that luxury comes a heavy price tag. Additionally, while you will have access to unlimited excursions, if you want to see some of the more popular Turks & Caicos attractions on the main islands, you’re out of luck. Lastly, the property, being so exclusive, is a bit smaller than your average resort, so don’t expect a huge number of restaurants or pools (there are two and one of each, respectively). 

Included: In the cost of your room rate, the resort also includes all dining, all excursions, private plane transfers, daily spa treatments, butler service, on-island transportation, all activities, and children’s programming. You really shouldn’t have to reach into your pocket at all while you’re here.

2. Beaches Turks & Caicos

Beaches Turks & Caicos in Providenciales provides a high level of service in a large resort setting. Since Beaches is an internationally-known brand by Sandals, you can expect the same great experience you’d get at any Beaches property throughout the Caribbean. The one thing to know about this particular property, though, is that it truly is massive. 

Accommodation options are spread out across five separate villages. The water park comes in at a massive 45,000 square feet. The hotel claims 12 miles of beach all to itself. There are 21 restaurants to choose from and 10 pools, with 15 bars, including swim-up bars and an additional scuba diving pool, plus four hot tubs. You’ll never run out of things to do and experience here.

Pros: There’s always something to do at this resort, thanks to its massive size and near-endless options.

Cons: For some families, the resort’s huge size can be overwhelming. If you’d prefer a more intimate experience, where you don’t need to worry about losing sight of the kiddos, you might prefer a smaller property. 

Included: The resort includes unlimited dining, unlimited drinks, in-room stocked bars, all gratuities, roundtrip airport transfers, children’s programming, all activities, entertainment, WiFi, and more.

3. East Bay Resort

East Bay Resort, situated in South Caicos, offers great value for your money. The all-inclusive property is one of the most budget-friendly on our list. Depending on the package you book, your all-inclusive experience will include differing amenities, but potential extra, add-on perks include things like airport transfers and inter-island air travel. 

The resort offers a 4-star experience, so may not be as luxurious as you’ll find elsewhere, but it’s not shabby by any means. The resort is also smaller and a bit more basic. For example, the single restaurant is a buffet and there’s only one pool. However, there’s also a spa, bar, and fitness center, and special diving packages are also available. 

Pros: You’ll save some cash when staying at this property, while still enjoying a range of amenities. The location also makes the resort ideal for exploring off-property. 

Cons: You won’t find the wide array of dining and entertainment/activity options here that you would elsewhere. 

Included: The basic all-inclusive package, without any of the extra add-ons, includes all meals, select alcoholic beverages, and activities. 

Audience: Travelers seeking a budget-friendly stay.

4. Club Med Turkoise 

For those who want an adults-only vacation, you can get that in Turks & Caicos as well. 

Club Med Turkoise offers the adult-geared fun atmosphere the international brand is known for, but without any particular focus on romance, like what you’ll find at some adults-only resorts. This makes the property more suitable for groups of friends or relatives than honeymooners. 

Located in the popular Grace Bay of Providenciales, the property is nicely situated if you want to explore the island and not necessarily spend your entire vacation on-resort. The resort offers six restaurants and bars, a fitness center, a beach, and one pool, so it’s not as large as some of the other resorts, but the location and adults-only vibe make up for that fact. 

Pros: The resort’s location and size make it ideal for adults who want to explore the island during their stay.

Cons: The resort’s location and size also make it less than ideal for adults who want lots of options for both fun and dining, right at their fingertips. 

Included: All meals, drinks, and access to sporting facilities and similar activities. Airport transfers are available for an extra fee. 

Audience: Adults who want a budget-friendly all-inclusive stay, but without the screaming kids.

5. Alexandra Resort 

Alexandra Resort offers a central location, a range of room options from studios to suites, and an all-inclusive rate that allows all children under 12 to stay, eat, and play for free. Plus, the resort boasts a sister property also in Turks and Caicos and, if you stay at one, you have access to all the fun (and dining options!) at the other. This is especially notable since Alexandra Resort on its own is a bit small. Still, you’ll have access to nine restaurants and bars on the property, as well as a spa and pool. 

Pros: Get access to two resorts with one stay at this property, plus enjoy a central location. Kids stay free, too. 

Cons: The property isn’t that large. And, to take advantage of the sister resorts’ amenities, you will need to hop on a shuttle. 

Included: Included in your stay are WiFi, parking, all gratuities, all meals, all beverages, and an in-room stocked mini fridge. Additionally, all access to the resort’s sister resort, shuttle service between the two resorts, and on-property activities except for motorized water sports are included. Room service, airport transfers, and other amenities/activities are available for extra fees. 

Audience: Families who want a lot of options and a convenient location in Grace Bay.

6. Bohio Dive Resort 

If you’re specifically traveling to Turks & Caicos for the excellent diving, then you’ll want to book your stay at Bohio Dive Resort, where the entire focus is on just that. 

Family-run, the property sits on Grand Turk, one of the lesser-visited islands. You will need to arrange an inter-island flight and transfer on your own unless you book an all-inclusive package. Snorkeling and scuba-diving are some of the top activities on Grand Turk. As such, the resort offers all sorts of diving experiences, including group dives, night dives, and guided dives for beginners to experts.  

Pros: This small, locally-owned resort is specifically catered to divers. However, if you want a bit more to do, there are other tour and activity options, as well as a spa, pool, and two restaurants. 

Cons: The pros that’ll be a big attractant to some travelers will be a big turn-off to others. If you’re looking for lots of amenities and things to do (that aren’t diving), you may not prefer this resort. Additionally, the all-inclusive rate isn’t technically all-inclusive. There are still select things you’ll need to pay for, such as most of your dinners.

Included: To get an all-inclusive experience, you will have to book the resort’s Best of Bohio Package. This will get you seven nights’ accommodations, 10 morning dives, and breakfast and lunch each day. It also includes inter-island flights, airport transfers, one night dive, unlimited shore diving, tours, one dinner, welcome drinks, free use of non-motorized water equipment, WiFi, and parking. 

Audience: Serious divers who want a low-key environment and not a lot of hubbub.
